Hello,

My current body of work explores the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on American culture. It documents the effects of social distancing and how it impacts two metropolitan areas, New York City and San Antonio, Texas. It also explores the use of protective masks and how they’ve transitioned from personal protective equipment to symbols of protest and articles of clothing used to unify the community.

In addition to documenting the chaos and confusion of 2020, the various stay-at-home orders exposed these same communities to a different type of living. Through my isolated walks in New York City and San Antonio, I used my camera to document what it’s like living in a city without inhabitants, and the beauty that is associated with its stillness.

Having had the opportunity to be in two different cities during two life changing events (pandemic/protest) has not gone unnoticed. Recently, the International Center of Photography (ICP) selected one of my images for their #ICPConcerned exhibit, which will be on display from Aug 11, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020

Thanks for stoping in!
